Install Grafana on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
Introduction
Grafana is an open-source software that transforms multiple feeds from systems such as Graphite, Telegraf, and InfluxDB into beautiful metrics in a centralized dashboard.
This tutorial will cover the process of installing the Grafana web interface.
Requirements
- A Debian 8 64 Bit instance3.
- Approximately 5 minutes.
Installation
Grafana can be installed via apt
using the following commands:
$ wget https://grafanarel.s3.amazonaws.com/builds/grafana_4.1.1-1484211277_amd64.deb
$ apt-get install -y adduser libfontconfig
$ dpkg -i grafana_4.1.1-1484211277_amd64.deb
Start the server (via systemd)
Use the following commands to start Grafana and add set it to auto-start on system boot:
$ systemctl daemon-reload
$ systemctl start grafana-server
$ systemctl status grafana-server
Usage
The Grafana daemon listens to port 3000
. In order to visit the Grafana Dashboard, point your browser to http://192.168.0.1:3000
(replace this IP with your actual server IP), and use the default login credentials below:
Username: admin
Password: admin
Note: Please make sure to change the default Grafana password to prevent unauthorized access to the dashboard.
